Collins. London. 1936. FIRST EDITION. 8vo. (8.1 x 5.8 inches). Illustrated with 8 full page woodcuts by the author. A little foxing, mostly to the fore edge of the pages, and a neat previous owner name, dated March 1936, on the front blank free endpaper, otherwise a very good copy in the original Publishers black cloth with white lettering to the spine, which has oxidised but it mostly still readable. In a very near fine example of the attractive illustrated dustwrapper with only minimal chipping to the edges.

White, an author who was best known for his Arthurian tales including his popular work 'The Sword in the Stone&apos. This autobiographical work provides an account of the author's time living in the British countryside. In the publisher's original cloth. Lacking dust wrapper. Externally generally smart with fading to the extremities of the front board and spine, marks to the boards, a lean, bumping to the extremities and small closed tears to the head and tail of the spine. Offsetting to the front free endpapers with a date stamped to the rear pastedown and remnants of a label to the rear. Internally generally firmly bound with signs of strain to pp.288. This memoir was very well received, and regards a year spent in England. The first edition. With the original price-clipped dustwrapper. T H White was best known for his Arthurian novels, with 'The Sword in the Stone' being his most memorable. In the publisher's original full cloth binding. Externally, in a very smart condition. Minor shelfwear to the spine, with the letters lightly run. Dustwrapper is sound. Loss to the head and tail of spine as well as to the extremities of the wraps. Small tape repair to the internal of wrap. Sunning to the spine. Internally, the book is firmly bound. Pages are bright. Scattered spots to the fore-edge, only affecting the occasional page.
