First published in 1852 by M. Rivadeneyra, Madrid. Juan Ruiz de Alarcón (1581-1639) was born in New Spain (Mexico), traveling back to Spain first in 1600 and then 1611. "La verdad sospechosa" is his most famous work and a masterpiece of Latin American Baroque theater. A near fine copy, minor edge wear.
