This is a copy of the first English translation of this work, which considers French Illustration at the start of the twentieth century. The original French edition was written by Leon Pichon and this English edition was translated from the French by Herbert B. Grimsditch. With twenty four illustrations in colour and further illustrations throughout. Some of the artists included in this volume are George Barbier, Henry Chapront, Maurice Denis and Pierre Falke. In the original unclipped dustwrapper. In full blue cloth binding. Externally, smart with a small mark to the front board and the spine is a little faded.
