Complete in four volumes.Each volume is bound with the half-title.A collection of the weekly newspaper, 'The World', which was published from 1753 to 1756, with a total of two-hundred and nine publications.The newspaper saw contributions from people such as Horace Walpole, E. S. Dallas, Edward Lovibond, and Charles Hanbury Williams. It was devoted to the satirising the follies and vices of the fashionable society of the eighteenth century.The publication typically saw a circulation that averaged from two to three thousand copies.Edited by Edward Moore, under the pseudonym 'Adam Fitz-Adam&apos. He became the editor through the influence of Lord Lyttelton. Moore was a dramatist who wrote 'The Foundling', 'Gil Blas', 'Fables From the Female Sex', and more. In a full calf binding. Externally, generally smart. A little loss to the head and tail of the spines. Minor bumping to the extremities. Rubbing to the rear board of Volume I. Front hinge of Volume I is starting but firm. Hinges of Volume IV are starting but firm. Volume IV is lacking the endpapers. Prior owner's ink inscription to the recto to the front free endpaper, and to the verso to the rear endpaper of Volume I. Ink mark to the rear pastedown of Volumes II and IV. The contents are listed on the verso of the envelope and consist of "A Letter from the Editors", "Rabbit Bike" a book by Chris Moore, "An Envelope of Poetry, Fiction and Ephemera by Kent Clair Chamberlain", "Mrs. Heiner's Funeral" a story by William Meyer, "Bugs" the ravings of Jeff Weston, "This Dress is Dyed with Hustler Magazine" by Danica Phelps, "Love Poems for Audrey Hepburn" by Michael J. Phillips, "L(ie)fe Boat" a poetry manuscript by Edward Francisco, and "The Boxed Archives of Joseph Cornell - a Posthumous Catalog". The edges of the manila envelope are slightly creased. Near fine.

A Quarterly Publication of the Weighted Anchor press, the contents of this literary magazine include a 2-page form letter advertising the Weighted Anchor Press with a list of the issues of "West" and "Object Lesson" available for purchase. Nine items, as listed on the envelope, are additionally contained within:

1. "A Letter From the Editors", printed on both sides of an 8-1/2 inch high by 5-1/2 inch wide sheet of fine white paper, folded and housed in a cream envelope.

2. "Rabbit Bike" a book by Chris Moore measuring 5 inches high by 3-3/4 inches wide, bound in stapled light green wraps. The 24-page book is mostly illustrated with photographs.

3. "An Envelope of Poetry, Fiction and Ephemera by Kent Clair Chamberlain" consists of 6 pages printed on both sides of three 11 inch high by 8-1/2 inch wide sheets of paper folded and housed in a legal-sized envelope printed with facsimile annotations and illustrations of postage stamps.

4. "Mrs. Heiner's Funeral: A Radical Texas Eulogy" a 12-page book by William E.H. Meyer, Jr. bound in 8-1/2 inch high by 5 inch wide stapled peach wraps.

5. "Bugs" by Jeff Weston, consists of four 8-1/2 inch high by 5-1/2 inch wide broadsides with the text of Jeff Weston's "ravings" continuing on each sheet. The first page is illustrated with a vignette of "Bugs Bunny" printed in red beneath the title.

6. "This Dress is Dyed with Hustler Magazine" by Danica Phelps is a photograph of the author in a loose white dress printed on one side of 7 inch high by 5 inch wide stiff white card stock and with a close up of the dress with text explaining that "Each panel of this dress is dyed with a different issue of Hustler magazine.." and the process involved.

7. "Love Poems for Audrey Hepburn" by Michael J. Phillips consists of 8 pages of visual poetry printed on 11 inch high by 8-1/2 inch wide sheets of white paper laid into a brown manilla folder.

8. "L(ie)fe Boat" a poetry manuscript by Edward Francisco, consists of 24 pages printed on one side of 11 inch high by 8-12 inch wide sheets of white paper housed in a titled white envelope. The bottom left corners of the pages are creased.

9. "The Boxed Archives of Joseph Cornell" is a Posthumous Catalog compiled by Buck Pennington mechanically reproduced on seven 11 inch high by 8-1/2 inch wide sheets of white paper stapled together at the top left corner.
