Nothing and Everything (Catalog That Accompanies an Exhibition of Thirty-Eight Drawings, Paintings, Photographs, and Sculpture Spanning Eleven Decades. )
San Francisco: Fraenkel Gallery, 2006. 9.75 x 7.75 in. Hardbound, 46 pages, 38 color illustrations. New condition. Nothing and Everything, is a hardcover catalog that accompanies an exhibition of thirty-eight drawings, paintings, photographs, and sculpture spanning eleven decades. The book and exhibition includes works by Carl Andre, Vija Celmins, Jean Dubuffet, Walker Evans, Robert Gober, Peter Hujar, Donald Judd, Ellsworth Kelly, Helen Levitt, Piero Manzoni, Agnes Martin, Robert Rauschenberg, and Hiroshi Sugimoto, among others. Nothing and Everything, investigates one of art’s oldest mysteries: how an artwork may simultaneously contain elements of emptiness and fullness, void and profusion. These qualities may appear contradictory but they do not have to be so. Several works, including Peter Hujar’s 1975 photograph of the Hudson River and Ellsworth Kelly’s drawing Light Reflecting on Water (1950), explore connections between the banal and the sublime, particularly in nature. Diane Arbus’s photograph Clouds on-screen at a drive-in movie, N.J. (1960), for example, blurs the line between the mundane and the transcendent with its image of a billowing cloud on the movie screen against the evening sky. More than a statement of modern man’s distance from nature, the photograph captures a moment of the sublime bounded by the everyday. Nothing and Everything was organized in collaboration with Peter Freeman, Inc. New York. .

Special designed catalogue of the first (posthumous) solo-exhibition of Piero Manzoni (1933-1963) in the Netherlands, with a list of group exhibitions, bibliography and a list of displayed works. From the press release of the Van Abbemuseum (translated from the Dutch) : Piero Manzoni (1933 - 1963). About 80 works by the Italian zero artist Piero Manzoni, who died young, are exhibited in the Stedelijk van Abbeguseum . The intention is to provide an overview of his work and an insight into his ideas and activities, which are influenced by certain developments in current art (On loose screws, Amsterdam (Stedelijk Museum), When attitudes become form, live in your head, Bern (Kunsthalle) appear to be current again. His early work still shows figurative elements. In 1957 Manzoni made his first 'achrome', monochrome white canvases composed of rags, plaster, porous clay, glue and similar materials. Later he also used other (white) materials such as cotton wool, feathers, white-painted bread rolls, etc. After his 'achrome' , the idea (concept) became increasingly important in his activities, the visual affect less and less. This is how he made his lines of varying lengths that are kept in sealed boxes. Perhaps to make the dynamic factor of time concrete? His ideas were piling up faster than they were realized. The meaning of Manzoni lies mainly in his mentality which is somewhat evident from his words: I have always regarded painting more as a moral obligation than as a matter of material objects. At the opening (Friday, September 26 at 8:15 p.m.) Mr. Henk Peeters will give an introduction; A film about Manzoni will also be shown. The intention is to show this film every Sunday afternoon. The Manzoni exhibition will be on display untill November 9, 1969 ISBN .

Manzoni, Piero.
Piero Manzoni - achrome
Sous la direction de Choghakate Kazarian et Camille Lévêque-Claudet. Paris : Hazan Editions, 2016. Hardcover. 192 pp. Catalog of the exhibition at the Musée Cantonal des beaux arts de Lausanne, 15.6.-25.9.2016. Mailorder only - Alleen verzending mogelijk. Book condition : as new. ISBN 9782754108768.
