An advertisement for Fisher & Co's Mighty Alok Kola Nut tonic in The Brisbane Courier, 1898 quotes Monnet's report: "I gave a strong infusion of Kola Nut to a railroad track layer, who was suffering from 'blue devil's' (hypochondria) extremely, and within two hours he felt like going to his hard duties, and laughed and talked."
