Paste-downs in a variation of the front board covers. Each is numbered 128 of a limitation of 300 on its colophon and housed in a matching 8 x 6.2cm chitsu with clasp and printed title slip flush left. Place Names (Chimei Ateji Ehon) - green boards - The right hand page features the name of the place stenciled vertically in red katakana with stenciled dark blue Japanese text on one side. The facing page has a stencil color portrait of the place featured, some with Japanese text. Paris, Venice and Kilimanjaro are three of the ten notable locations included. Personal Names (Jinmei Ateji Ehon) - blue boards - The right hand page features the name of the individual stenciled vertically in red katakana with stenciled gray and black Japanese text on either side. The facing page has a stencil portrait in brown tones of the person featured, with their name in English text below it. Pythagoras, Shakespeare and Isaac Newton are three of the ten notable personages included. Products of Culture and Civilization (Bunbutsu Ateji Ehon) - brown boards - The right hand page features the name of the cultural product stenciled vertically in red with black text on one side and the name in English text in gray stenciled horizontally below. The facing page has a multicolor stencil of the product. Lamp, Kiss and Hotel are three of the most easily recognized cultural contributions included. Though not miniature books by Western standards, in Japanese terms these are mamehon 豆æoe¬. A few pages are faded with an abrasion to the inside edge of Kilimanjaro page, not affecting art work. Lovely artwork with good printing and cross cultural significance. .
