Color Illustrations; This is a series of six small booklets with illustrated self covers and stapled spines, all enclosed in a small box. The set is in Very Good condition. The box is complete, but has two tears to the top edge of the cover. The white box has spots of foxing / toning and ground-in dirt, along with rubbing and wear to the edges and corners. The books themselves are in generally clean, bright condition, though the staples show rust and there is toning / foxing to the spines. The text pages are generally clean and bright with occasional finger marks. "Beaman attended the Heatherley School of Fine Art, and during that period founded the theatre group known as the Dickens Fellowship, which led to him being invited to perform at smoking concerts. He met his wife, Maud Mary Poltock, during these performances. After his stint there he turned to making wooden toys, taking advantage of the fact that Germany was no longer the dominant force in the industry. He began to weave stories around them, which led to the birth of Toytown in 1928" (from Wikipedia). Very Good .
