Snug square binding with hinges intact. Covers clean, no fraying, corners very light rubbing, spine ends normal shelf bumping. Gilt titling & graphic bright except publisher's name heel of spine is very dim/about absent. Spine cloth mild sun fading + uneven strip of fading across top edge of f&b covers. Interior mostly crisp and very clean with the exceptions being previous owner name across top edge of title page ("Property of Mrs. H.L. Caldwell, Jr." in flowing ink) & 2 small top corners had been folded over. List of Illustrations at the front: 28 clean one-side-only plates (incl frontis) with 35 total images & each image a woman golfer identified by name (appx 17 or 18 different women). Some of the women pictured: Mrs. Clarence H. Vanderbeck, Miss Elaine Rosenthal, Miss Muriel Dodd, Mrs. J.E. Davies, Mrs. Anthony J. Drexel, Mrs. J.W. Faith, etc. Previous owner Mrs. H.L. Caldwell, Jr. probably married to owner of Caldwell Importing Company of Mineapolis, "Importers and Roasters of Coffee". Base of the last page a slip tipped-in at the gutter stating: "Copyrighted Illustrations - The copyrights of the illustrations used in this book are owned by [4 entities are named] who have kindly consented to their use in this book". Thirteen volumes of publications of Great Western Railway Company Memorandums, published between 1907 and 1934.With eight volumes of the 'Memorandum of Provisions in Acts of Parliament Relating to Other Companies and Bodies Inserted for the Protections of the Great Western Railway Company' sessions dating from 1907, 1909, 1912, 1914, 1915 to 1919, 1924 to 1925, 1932 and 1934. With four volumes of the company 'Memorandum of Powers and Protective Clauses', dating from 1908, 1913, 1914 and 1924. Also present is an appendix to the 1927 session 'Containing Extracts from Correspondence, &c.'Each volume is edited by both a company solicitor and parliamentary agent, and contains an interesting record of the internal workings of this British Railway company, founded in 1833.The GWR was the only company to keep its identity through the Railways Act 1921, which amalgamated it with the remaining independent railways within its territory, a period covered by these publications. In the publisher's original quarter cloth bindings. With the rear wrap absent to volumes II and VII, with back strip detaching from text block of volume VII. Cloth similarly detaching from heads and tails of remaining volumes. Discolouration to publisher's paper wraps, with some chipping and small tears. Internally, firmly bound.
