With notes on elephants as a species. Written and illustrated by Marius Maxwell, a British wildlife photographer for Natural History at the British Museum. With a preface by Sir Sidney Frederic Harmer, a British zoologist and president of the Linnean Society from 1927 to 1931. Bound in quarter calf with blue cloth boards. Externally, smart with light rubbing and minor bumping to the extremities. Fading to the spine and the odd mark to the board. Internally, firmly bound.
