Teresa of Avila is one of the most human and lovable of the Saints, and many books have been written about her, but few which recreate her personality, her times and her country so sympathetically as Miss Hamilton's. The book is the fruit of a pilgrimage, its author travelled far and wide in Spain, visiting the Saint's birthplace and her convent, retracing the arduous journeys she made to found new convents of the Discalced Carmelites. 4 illustrations and 1 map.
