Patavii: Joannem Manfre, 1782. Reprint. 1. Vellum. Contemporary full vellum. Jacopo Facciolati (1682–1769) was an Italian lexicographer and philologist. He was born at Torreglia, in what is now the province of Padua (then in the Republic of Venice), in 1682. As professor of logic and regent of the schools, Facciolati became the leading academic of Padua university during a period of forty-five years. He published improved editions of several philological works, such as the Thesaurus Ciceronianus of Nizolius, and in 1719 he brought out a revised edition of the Lexicon Septem Linguarum, a Latin dictionary in seven languages, called the Calepinus, from the name of its author, the monk Ambrogio Calepino. Boards lightly soiled and moderately bowed, unmarked, tight and clean. VERY GOOD. 8vo 8" - 9" tall. 244 pp. Very Good with no dust jacket .

Bound in contemporary full veluum, gilt title on smooth spine, edges painted red. Ex-library with small stamp on title page and tipped in ex-libris on first paste down ( English abbey). Title page with a marginal paper restoration affecting three letters (...lli from Marelli ). Still a nice clean copy of the fourth edition. The first edition was given in Padova in 1718. .
