¶ Die Originalstiche der Erstausgabe dieses Werkes, von Henri Arnaud 1710 geschrieben, wurden von Acland 1827 übersetzt, ergänzt und herausgegeben. Er hat auch die schönen Landschaftsbilder gezeichnet, welche von Edward Finden gestochen wurden. Dieser Ansichtsband enthält nur die Stiche, ohne den Text. Dargestellt werden die Bergtäler in Norditalien (Ligurien) und Frankreich, welche 1689 der Schauplatz blutiger Auseinandersetzungen zwischen den Vaudois oder Valdensern, einer kleinen verfolgten Religionsgemeinschaft, und dem Herzog von Savoyen, waren.
