George Oxford was in a bad marriage – his wife was neurotic, and had selfish possessiveness. There was an accident and his wife died – it was an accident, but, other people so it and that meant blackmail. Minor creasing of the book corners with a horizontal crease the full length of the front panel. Rubbing of the book edges and panels and there is sunning of the back strip and to the right hand edge of the rear panel. Tanning and some foxing of the text block edges and lighter tanning of the pages. Foxing to the first few and last few pages of the book. First softcover edition.
