Collated, complete.Sir John Barrow provides an account of the Bounty"s voyage from England in December 1787, its stay in Tahiti, and the fateful mutiny led by Fletcher Christian against Captain William Bligh.With the bookplate of Francis Goucher to the front pastedown, and his inscription to the recto of the frontispiece.Barrow critically evaluates the causes and consequences of the mutiny, follows the open-boat voyage of Bligh and loyal crewmen, details the capture and trial of several mutineers in 1792, and even traces the survival of others on Pitcairn Island.
