An unopened first edition of this interesting English translation and illustrated edition of 'The Five Scrolls', illustrated in colour by Leonard Baskin. With an opened copy of the same first edition book. Unopened, in the publisher's original cardboard box. With another copy of the same book, an opened copy. The opened copy is very good indeed in a good only dustwrapper. The first edition of this work. In the original unclipped dustwrappers. Illustrated with thirty-seven colour plates. An English translation of 'The Five Scrolls', a bilingual work with the original Hebrew. 'The Five Scrolls' are parts of the Ketuvim, the third major section of the Tanakh. The Five Scrolls are the 'Book of Ruth', the 'Book of Lamentations', 'Ecclesiastes', and 'The Book of Esther&apos. Edited by Albert Friedlander and Herbert Bronstein. Both men were rabbi. Illustrated by Leonard Baskin. Baskin was an American artist, who believed in the superiority of figurative art. In the original publisher's cloth binding and original unclipped dustwrapper. Externally, fine. One copy is unopened, in the publisher's original cardboard box. Cardboard box with a bit of edge wear, and a four inch tear to one of the corners. Opened copy is externally smart, with light fading to the extremities, and just a few light marks to the boards. Dustwrapper for the opened copy with some loss to the spine, and repairs to the head and tail of the spine, and to the folds of the flyleaves. Paper to the folds of the flyleaves are lifting. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean. The opened copy is very good indeed in a good only dustwrapper. As New . Ill.: Leonard Baskin. As New/Fine.
