He is best known in Britain for his 1978 story The Snowman. This set contains: Fungus the Bogeyman, 1977. A day in the life of Fungus the Bogeyman, a working class bogeyman with the mundane job of scaring human beings. As the day progresses he undergoes a mild existential crisis pondering the seemingly pointless job he does each day. Gentleman Jim, 1980. The story of Jim Bloggs, an imaginative toilet cleaner who, dissatisfied with his station in life, devotes his time to envisioning a world beyond it. When the Wind Blows, 1982. Again following the story of the Bloggs, in this story the couple hears a message on the radio about an "outbreak of hostilities" in three days time. Jim immediately starts construction of a fallout shelter in accordance with a government-issued Protect and Survive brochure. Unlucky Wally, 1987. A humorous description of Wally Burke, who is not only very unlucky, but has an enormous number of antisocial habits of which he is quite unaware. Ug: Boy Genius of the Stone Age, 2001. A day spent following the adventures of a boy named Ug living in the Stone Age who is thought by those around him to "think too much". A Bit More Bert, 2002. Here's a bit more Bert, with six new chapters in which our hero shares his crisps, loses his dog and needs a haircut, with which the reader will have to help. Written in collaboration with Allan Ahlberg, a British creator of children's books. The Puddleman, 2004. A ouching story about a young boy named Tom and his grandfather who he refers to as "Collar" because he drags him around on a lead. In the original paper covered boards. Externally, very smart with light wear and minor bumping to the extremities. Both A Bit More Bert and The Puddleman are bound withe the original unclipped dust wrapper.
