G. Bradley (1925). With England's Outpost, The Country of the Kentish Cinque Ports, illustrated by Fred Adcock and with a map (1921). Collated, complete. England's Outpost is the first edition, first impression of this work with no date and no impression information stated. Dated from the copy held by the British Library. An Old Gate is the third impression of this work. Two works of local histories, with 'England's Outpost' being "in effect a sequel" of An Old Gate, as the author states in the preface. The two together cover the whole Clique Port littoral.Prior owner's ink inscriptions to the first free endpapers of both volumes, dated 1952 to 'An Old Gate&apos. In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally, very smart. There is some minor bumping to the heads and tails of the spines and to the extremities. There are some light marks to the spines. The hinges are slightly strained but firm. Prior owner's ink inscriptions to the first free endpapers of both volumes. Internally, firmly bound.
