(London: Associated Fashion Artists, 1925-1926). 1925-1926). - Quarto [11 inches high by 8-1/2 inches wide], navy blue cloth with a printed paper label on the spine. The binding is rubbed & bumped with a few small stains. The spine is darkened with the head & tail lightly chipped. The label is rubbed, darkened & chipped and is barely legible. 292 pages plus ads. Profusely illustrated with color plates tipped onto gray stock, black-and-white and color plates and illustrations, pictorial ads and music staves. A gift inscription and the recipient's signature are penned on the front endpaper. There is scattered light foxing and staining. The book is partially cracked at page 198. Good.

This volume includes the six issues of Volume 1 of The Artists Monthly. These issues were published between October 1925 and March 1926. Performing arts were sometimes covered in addition to visual arts. A musical composition by Hubert Bath and an original color woodcut by C. N. Heath are included. Good .

The top edge is gilt. The binding is lightly bumped & rubbed with some minor white spotting to the front cover. 307 pages. Illustrated with 4 plates with tissue guard, 3 sepia-toned & 1 in black & white, & with black-and-white textual illustrations. Very good.

Inscribed by the author at the top of the title page to Civil War veteran Louis Livingston: "To Col. Livingston / with the compliments of the author / Edward Blair". Livingston, a member of the notable Dutchess County, New York family, was a Captain and later Aide de Camp in the 1st Brigade, 1st Division of the XII Corps. He served under General Samuel Crawford and was breveted to Major for his service at Antietam and to Lieutenant Colonel for "conspicuous gallantry" at Gettysburg. Very good .
