Reprint edition, circa 1930s. 287 pp. 12 colour plates, many line drawings, 4to, mustard cloth wtih black and silver stamped illustrations/titles to front board and spine. This edition has the eps "from life poses by the famous comedians, Montgomery and Stone" as the Tin Woodman and Scarecrow. A complete copy with all plates as called for. Covers are VG with light wear to extremities, some soiling from handling but stil quite bright and unfaded. Book is quite shaken with hinges cracking, a few plates loose, a couple quite edge-worn where exposed. A Fair copy overall. Priced accordingly. Scans available. Fair.

This work first appeared in 1904 under the title "The Marvelous Land of Oz." This stated "Popular Edition" bears 1904 date, but likely published c.1924-34 (per Bienvenue p.26). With a single uncaptioned frontis color plate and also illustrated throughout in black & white by John R. Neill. --- In light blue cloth-covered boards with color Neill illustration pasted to cover. Volume lacks the dust jacket. --- A Poor-only copy with damages and is priced accordingly: backstrip is missing,front & rear hinges cracked, prior owner's signature to front endpaper and a child has used crayon to 'fill in' several of the black & white illustrations. Textblock itself is tightly-bound.; Tall Octavo (9 to 10 in. tall); 287 pages. Poor with no dust jacket .
