Bierce, Ambrose; Tarkington, Booth et al.
Cosmopolitan Magazine. October, 1905
New York, International Magazine Company, 1905. Wraps. Printed wraps. Ads and illustrations throughout. A single issue of this general interest magazine, perhaps of note for the inclusion of 'Some Uncanny Tales' by Ambrose Bierce. Also of interest is a look at creating fashions in dress, with black and white photos of women wearing designs to be altered or in the process of alteration; an article on restoring bison to the Western Plains; and an illustrated section of photos of women stage actors, including Marie Doro, Rose Farquhar, Lucille St. Clair, and Clarita Vidal. GOOD condition. Covers toned, with minor soiling. Minor pencil scribbles to the left side of the front cover. Extremities with many small tears, associated creases and a few chips. Good .

Hittell's Mining Life in Shasta in 1849. In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally, smart, with light shelf wear to the extremities and the odd mark to the boards. Boards are a little warped. Hinges are starting but remain firmly held. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are generally bright and clean, with a light tide mark to the head of the occasional page.
