Alistair Maclean, Where Eagles Dare; the Dark Crusader
Alistair Maclean
Where Eagles Dare; the Dark Crusader
London, Collins, 1967-1969 . Cloth. A very smart duo of thrilling spy novels from Scottish author Alistair MacLean, including a first edition copy of 'Where Eagles Dare&apos. Containing a first edition of 'Where Eagles Dare' (1967) and a fourth impression of 'The Dark Crusader' (1969). Both bound in the publisher's original cloth. Two classic thrilling adventure novels from Scottish author Alistair MacLean. Many of his works have been adapted to films, including 'Where Eagles Dare', which follows a team of British Special Forces commandos and their mission to steal an invulnerable alpine castle only accessible through the headquarters of Nazi intelligence. The other title included here, 'The Dark Crusader', was originally published under MacLean's pseudonym of Ian Stuart, and features Agent John Bentall as he is recalled to London to investigate a series of top-level scientist disappearances. In the original cloth bindings. Externally, very smart, with light rubbing and bumping to the extremities. Slight fading to the spines and a couple white marks to the rear board of 'Dark Crusader&apos. Internally, firmly bound. Pages to 'Dark Crusader' are age toned due to paper used, with the odd spot to the endpapers, otherwise works are generally bright and clean. Very Good Indeed . Ill.: None. Very Good Indeed .
