Illustrated with a tipped-in photogravure frontispiece, as well as numerous plans and reproductions of photographs in the text, to each volume. Two volumes from a three volume set on the history and topography of London from notable authors such as Alfred Noyes, Frank Swinnerton, Walter Jerrold, Peggy Webling, Sir Philip Gibbs, Cicely Hamilton and Arthur Machen, among others. Subjects include: the story of St. Paul's Cathedral and Westminster Abbey, street markets and street hawkers, early London, the River Thames, London's art galleries and theatres, London Zoo, and many more. Volume I contains pages 1-384. Volume II contains pages 385-768. Undated, dated from copies held at Brunel University London Library. In the publisher's original pictorial cloth bindings. Externally generally smart, with light shelf wear, particularly to the rear boards and extremities. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean except for the odd spot and handling mark to the first and last few pages. A couple of marks to pages 207-210 of Volume I. Very Good . Ill.: Not Stated. Very Good .
