A very scarce presentation copy of this work on censorship from Richard Aldington, inscribed to his friend John Arlott, and housed in a lovely cloth clamshell casing. The first trade edition. Early editions of this work are scarce due damage caused by the Blitz soon after publication. The author's presentation copy, inscribed to the front blank by the author: "John Arlott, Richard Aldington Hollywood 1945". John Arlott was a cricket commentator and poet. Number 7 of the Blue Moon Booklets published by Lahr, the Jewish anarchist and London bookseller/publisher. Two essays from Richard Aldington, featuring a commentary on sporting balls, and an expressive discourse on suppression. Aldington often struggled with the censorship from publishers around the time of the war. In 'Another Book for Suppression', Aldington complains that the focus should be on censoring sexual content on books instead. In the publisher's original paper covers, and the original incorporated dust wrapper.
