Each volume is illustrated with a portrait frontispiece of Spiro Agnew. Very good.

The state papers and addresses of the controversial Maryland Governor Spiro Agnew, who went on to become Vice President of the United States under Richard Nixon. Rumored to have accepted brides, Spiro Agnew was forced to resign while under indictment for tax fraud soon before the Watergate scandal brought down President Nixon. Very good .

New York: April 28 1980. 1980. - Over 30 words typed on creamy white 8-1/2 inch high by 5-1/2 inch wide "William Morrow & Company, Inc." stationery. In his letter addressed to Vice President Spiro Agnew's retired chief of staff now residing in Woodstock, NY, Howard Cady states that "Ted Agnew asked me to send you this copy of his book, which will be published officially on May 19." Signed in full "Howard Cady". Fine with the original envelope.

During his 50-year as a publisher Howard Cady (1914-1990) edited books by Rex Harrison, William Saroyan, Sophia Loren, Leon Uris, Barry Goldwater and Norman Vincent Peale. He was editor in chief at G.P. Putnam and at Holt, Rinehart & Winston, and executive editor at the David McKay Company before taking the position as Senior Editor at William Morrow & Company.

Arthur J. Sohmer (1926-1991), was Chief-of-Staff to Vice President Spiro T. Agnew from 1969 through 1973 and had been with Agnew through his prior governorship. Fine .
