London: The Nassau Press, St. Martin's Lane, W.C.; and Southwark, W.C. 1899. 1st Edition (Bolton ATTC 35). Not found in Gimbel. Light grey stiff-stock paper covers with grey cloth spine. Unpaginated, though 8 pages of preliminary text. Frontispiece of Harvey in the character of Sydney Carton. 18 leaves of b/w halftone photographic images of the characters / production, including an image of the advertising poster produced by the Nassau Press. 4to. 11-7/8" x 9-3/4" Here offered a souvenir play book from this production, which, according to Bolton, ran for 168 performances combined with its subsequent run at Prince of Wales. The production termed by Morley "the most successful of all plays taken from Dickens." [as quoted in the Bolton entry]. Wear & soiling to covers, with front cover lower corner lacking, and same to rear cover [piece laid-in]. An About VG copy of this fragile item.
