One sheet with content. Last two leaves titled "Biscuites Levèvre-Utile" missing eight cards. Bound in publisher's decorated boards, printed in silver and gold.An exclusive promotional album produced to celebrate Levèvre-Utile winning the grand prize for making biscuits at the 1900 Exposition Universelle in Paris. Lefèvre Utiel (LU) is a renowned French manufacturer of biscuits and chocolate based in Nantes (now part of Mondelez International). The lavishly decorated cards were included in packages of cookies and were intended as a collector's item. Each card has a colourful artistic scene associated with a contemporary celebrity, and includes a photographic portrait of the same. The artwork was created by leading French artists and photographers of the day.

An album featuring a selection of thirty illustrations of Toyokuni III's Genji series "Faithful Depictions of the Shining Prince". Nihon Bashi (Tokyo), Fukuda Hatsujiro (Gusokuya), 1897.

. Leporello folded album with thirty beautiful colour woodcut prints on crêpe paper. Size: 22.4 x 17.3 cm. The images have printed captions and numbers in Japanese. Contemporary silk-covered boards, rubbed, title label on upper cover. The "Tale of Genji" is the famous Japanese novel written in the early eleventh century by the court lady Murasaki Shikibu. The story of the fictional Prince Genji captures the aesthetics, intrigue and customs of court life at the time. It has served as an inexhaustible source of inspiration for visual artists throughout the ages. An album with thirty illustrations taken from Kunisada Utagawa (Toyokuni III) publication "Faithful Depictions of the Shining Prince" in 1849-53 (which has fifty-four illustrations). Lavishly printed with views of court life and travels in different seasons set in typically luxurious settings and in beautiful gardens with a wonderful attention to detail. (flowering trees, autumn maples, ponds, birds, fine textiles, extravagant interiors, peeking into views, etc.).Gusokuya was a well-respected family business that published woodblock prints, especially ukiyo-e, in Tokyo during the Meji period.

Frankfurt am Main, Heinrich Keller, 1879. Oblong folio (26.9 x 37.0 cm). 93 mounted collotypes (each oblong, ca. 8.5 x 12.5 cm) on larger, printed sheets. Original portfolio of quarter pebbled cloth over plain boards. Printed label mounted on front board. = An exceedingly rare, complete collection of collotype prints after original photographs of price-winning dogs at a dog show in Hannover, Germany. The images are excellent: very natural in detail and contrast, and carefully mounted on printed sheets with additional information, including the dog's name, breed, and owner. The photos were made by the brothers Wunder in Hannover. Plates loose, apparently as issued. Slightly, uniformly age-toned - a bit stronger near the edges; a few creases and an occasional spot, but generally clean. Covers rubbed, especially at corners and spine ends. The paper on which the photographs are mounted is generally age-toned. Some outer margins of plates chipped and slightly brittle, first plate professionally restored. A true rarity; OCLC (WorldCat) reports just two copies in libraries worldwide: one in Zürich (lacking plates 27, 30-34, 37-44, 47-49, 56, 78, 93), and only one complete copy in Williamsburg, VA. Not in any major bibliography.
