Uniformly bound in the publisher's original full cloth binding. Lord Macaulay's famous historical work, detailing the history of England from the accession of James the Second. It was originally published in 1848 as a five volume set, and, due to its popularity, went through numerous editions. The work covers the period between 1685 and 1702, including the Glorious Revolution and the reign of William III and Mary II. With twelve pages of publisher's advertisements to the rear of volume one. The half title pages are present in both volumes. In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally, smart with some shelf wear to the extremities. Light marks to the boards, slightly heavier to volume two. Closed tear and some fraying to the upper spine of volume two. Hinges strained in volume one but still generally firm. Hinges starting in volume two but very firm. Some fading to the edges of the paste-downs and free endpapers and some light spotting to the reverse of the free endpapers. Internally, firmly bound. Pages generally bright and clean with the odd small mark and some spotting to the front and rear. Pages lightly age-toned to the edges. Very Good . Ill.: None. Very Good .
