JAMES CATNACH. [NOT SO MUCH PIERCE EGAN & GEORGE CRUIKSHANK]. - Life in London: or, The Sprees of Tom and Jerry; attempted in Cuts and Verse. Eighteenth edition.

London, Jas Catnach 1822. Broadside 51x39cm; with two large and 10 smaller woodcuts with accompanying verse. Horizontal fold, a few spots and signs of use, a rather good copy. ¶ Pierce Egan "pirated, copied, traduced; but unfortunately not enriched" (his own words) in this rough approximation of his words and Cruikshank's illustrations of his best seller. Hindley, in his History of the Catnach Press, worked from what he thought might have been a unique copy loaned by Mr Pocock, there being no copy in the British Museum. They have since made good this gap but apparently no other libraries have.
