Contemporary green half calf over marbled boards; spine with four raised bands with gilt chains and gilt title. Marbled endpapers. = A detailed monograph of the water scavenger beetles, illustrated by the French entomologist Eugène Barthe (1892-1940) and written by the lawyer and member of the French entomological society, Maurice Gilbert Perrot Des Gozis (1852?-1909). A chapter titled Notes complémentaires, occupying pp. 201-215 was written by Barthe. Published in the series, Miscellanea Entomologica (founded and edited by Barthe), volume 23(6) and irregularly numbered subsequent sections up to volume 25(1). A clean and very nicely bound, complete copy such as this one is quite rare.
