Frontispiece loose at one corner from page. Contents otherwise still very good considering its age. With 8 plates in colour and 11 plates (including frontispiece) in black and white. Besides these plates there are illustrations within the text in black and white. One line on page 134 gilt. Appendix 3 is in French the rest is in English. . Fine morocco binding, richly gilt. Blue marble endpapers (front pastedown with some damage, probably due to the removing of an ex libris). Pages gils on all sides. Frontispiece printed on thin paper and applied to a page. Printed in a limited edition of 250 copies as noted in the front above the list of subscribers..
