Protected with a clearcover; Born in Ningbo, Zhejiang province, Mr. Chen Yifei was educated and began his oil painting career in Shangai. Having left for the United States in 1980 to further his study of fine art, he has focused his artistic creativity on Chinese subjects. After years of diligent and unremitting hard work, he has attained great success and has become a well-known Chinese painter at home and abroad. The most outstanding characteristics of Chen Yifei’ painting is the tranquility and stillness. His realistic painting style is infused with traditional Chinese aesthetics. In depicting the landscapes, rivers and lakes of southern China, or in portraying a beautiful female figure with vivid expression, the artist’ pursuit is clearly indicated: “To imbue the painting with a Chinese spirit by using western painting techniques”. This exhibition, the first show of Mr. Chen Yifei’ paintings in his home town, comprises a collection of his major works representing different periods of his painting career, from which we can appreciate the full character of his painting. This is of great significance for any contemporary study of the tradition of Chinese oil painting. Good. EUR 155.00 [Appr.: US$ 169.39 | £UK 129.75 | JP¥ 25275] Book number ABE34is offered by:
