WILSON, AUGUSTA J. EVANS - Macaria

London, Ward, Lock. Cloth, 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall. Dark blue titles and ornate bird decoration on blue cloth boards. Boards are very clean and unmarked with no wear with a very small line of fading to top of spine. Internally there is light foxing to closed edges else very clean, tight and unmarked. Dustjacket is price clipped and uniformly age faded with barely any discernible wear. Not dated but probably 1920's. First published in 1864, this is the American author Augusta Jane Evans Wilson's (1835-1909) third novel, a celebrated propaganda work which caused outrage in the North at the time of the American Civil War (she was a confederate supporter) . Unusual to find with such a good condition dustjacket. NOT EX LIB B2B. Very Good/Very Good.
