Prepared by Giambattista Giattinio and based on the first Spanish edition (Madrid in 1642). It includes some amendments as well as additional material. This Italian version is the preferred edition according to Lach & Van Kley. çlvaro Semedo (1586-1658), Portuguese Jesuit, lived and worked in China for over twenty years (1617-37).
