Translation of the first seven chapters of the Book of Daniel and the whole of the book of Jonah. Another edition, previously published in the same year, only contains the first six chapters of the Book of Daniel and the Book of Jonah. (See Williams).The mission at Paihia (Bay of Islands) was established in 1826, which soon became very active. The printing press arrived at Paihia in December 1834 together with William Colenso, missionary and botanist who operated the successful press for many years. William Gilbert Puckey (1805-78) arrived in New Zealand with his parents at the age of fourteen, learned the Ma›ri language and became an useful translator.
