Toronto, McClelland & Stewart, 1962. 1st edition. Hardcover. pp. 239. 8vo. The book is bumped, and sl. worn, at corners, with a bit of discoloration to the top edge (where the buckram is white). There is a very small stain to the extreme foredge of the front free endpaper. Otherwise, the book is tight and clean, and in very good condition. The jacket is scuffed, with wear and creasing to folds and edges. There are a few small spots (ink stains?) on the front panel, otherwise the jacket is still in about good condition. Author's first novel. SIGNED and dated (May 19, 1963) by author on half title page. Copyright page indicates that this copy was printed and bound in England, yet in appearance, it is the same as the other Canadian (M&S) editions we have handled. The dust jacket does not show any information about the place of printing. .
