- Warner Bros. Presents My Fair Lady

 1566014343,
N.p. Warner Bros. Pictures Inc, 1964. Hardcover. 4to. Glossy pink pictorial paper over boards. (Ca. 50p). Extensive illustrations (most color), pictorial endpapers. Near fine. Handsome copy of what's likely the sole printing of this slim volume commemorating the popular musical adaptation of George Bernard Shaw's 1913 play "Pygmalion." With music by Frederick Lowe and lyrics by Alan Jay Lerner, it debuted on Broadway in 1956, earned many Tony awards, and the film version won an Oscar for Best Picture -- both versions starring Rex Harrison as Henry Higgins and the stage play's Julie Andrews as Eliza Doolittle replaced by Audrey Hepburn. Heavily pictorial, with minimal text. This copy bears an interesting addition: Tipped to the title page is a unique frontispiece, a 10" X 8" heavy stock color glossy photograph advertising the "ABC Sunday Night Movie" airing of this film, showing Hepburn at center and three film scenes. Pristine, and while undated this television showing aired in the early 1970s. A lovely and unusual copy. .
