Foxing throughout and marginal age-toning, but contents perfectly legible. A fair to good copy. An account of the public debate between protagonists for and against the Roman Catholic and Protestant faiths, which took place over a period of six days, commencing April 19, 1827. Maguire (1792-1847) is described by the DNB as 'a Roman Catholic controversalist, educated at Maymouth College, ordained 1816; held various livings, engaged in platform discussions, of which 'Authenticated Reports' appeared in 1827 and 1839.'. .
