COULTER Surgeon Captain J. L. S. - The Royal Naval Medical Service. Volume II. Operations.. [Official History of the Second World War.] BRIGHT, CLEAN COPY WITH RELEVANT PROVENANCE

HMSO,, 1956. 8vo., First Edition, with frontispiece, 18 plates on 16 and full-page map in the text, neat signature on front free endpaper; red cloth, gilt back, a very good, bright, clean copy. This copy was formerly in the library of the Squadron Medical Officer, HMS WIZARD, Dartmouth Training Squadron, and carries its stamps on front paste-down. Published in the official History of the Second World War. United Kingdom Medical Series. Second of Coulter's two volumes on the RNMS (the first volume deals with administration). The present volume is much more wide-ranging that its title suggests, for it is virtually a history of the war at sea. It is inevitably fuller on the earlier years of the war when casualties were heavier. Importantly, it includes the diary of the MO of HMS Scylla covering almost a year. Very scarce. Enser, p.258.Law, 1206.
