Frederick Calvert, 6th Baron Baltimore, 4th Proprietor of Maryland (1731-1771) was an English nobleman who led a scandalous lifestyle. Though acquitted in this trial for the abduction and rape of Sarah Woodcock, he left England and never returned, dying in Naples at the age of 39. ESTC N13769. A good copy, boards scuffed, first and last leaves professionally repaired, reinforced, and remounted, one leaf with repaired tear mostly to margin, a number of leaves restored at the bottom margins, some marginal damp stain, fore edges with minor chips, text not affected.
