The U.S. Navy's fourth-ranking fighter ace of World War Two once downed six Japanese dive bombers within eight minutes, ending the war with 19 downed enemy planes and another 21 destroyed on the ground. Modern reproduction of a vintage shot showing a smiling Vraciu in full flight gear climbing out of his plane's cockpit, which shows 19 "rising sun" symbols (denoting victories) on its side. Near the center he boldly pens "LTJG Alex Vraciu / VF-16 / 19 Victories" in black fineline. Accompanied by an 11" X 14" print, a 1991 reproduction of a pencil head-and-shoulders portrait of Vraciu, his fighter plane and his bomb squadron's Mickey Mouse insignia by noted aviation artist Lonnie Ortega, who signs the print in pencil at lower right.
