Burton wrote virtually all of the first volume and much of the second ...’ With the bookplate of Ernest Terah Hooley (1859–1947) English financial fraudster. He achieved wealth and fame by buying promising companies and reselling them to the public at inflated prices, but a prosecution exposed his deceitful practices. He was made bankrupt four times and served two prison terms. Hooley was the developer of the world's first industrial park, Trafford Park on the outskirts of Manchester.
