Provenance: Brian Birley Roberts (1912-78), renowned British Polar ornithologist. Scarce children's book about the penguins and why they exist under the Equator, where they should not be. The author, a natural history artist explains the evolution of the bird and the ecosystems that supported the migration and maintenance of the species. First published in 1931.
