Crawley, Aidan, - ESCAPE FROM GERMANY.

Corgi Books, London, 1968, 1st in imprint, paperback, 284pp, [iv] ads., coloured pictorial upper, in April 1945 the author, who was Head of Escape Intelligence at Stalag Luft III and had been a POW for four years, conceived the idea to record every POW escape attempt. In autumn 1945 he was asked by the Historical Branch of the Air Ministry to write the history of RAF escapes. Later they consented for an edition to be published and this book is the result, with an Appendix of escapers who successfully reached allied lines and another Appendix of an extract of the German court martial of the Commandant of Stalag Luft III after the Great Escape, slight roll to lightly creased spine, edges tanned, very good,
