Flourished penned inscriptions at half-title and opposite from 1863 and 1874 from Lyle Hillis and then again in 1943 from Francis Emma Watkins. A readable and accessible account of the American Civil War penned by the wife of Gen. John Charles Fremont, a fetching war memoir told in a series of letters.
