The book and its contents are in generally clean, bright condition. The bottom spine end of the book covers has a chip missing. There is also a one inch spot of fraying to the front spine joint. The taupe colored cloth has spots of ground-in dirt and discolorations to both front and rear covers. The text pages are clean and bright. There is a previous owner's gift notation on thefirst free page. The book is illustrated by various artists, including: F. S. Church, Wm. St. John Harper, Thomas Hovenden, Gilbert Gaul, A. B.
