Pages foxed and heavily dampstained thoughout, but binding secure. A nicely readable copy. LACKS the frontispiece portrait of George Washington. A bound volume of issues of THE WESTERN MISCELLANY, a scarce early magazine published in Dayton. Contains articles, stories, and other readings of interest to rural pioneers of southwestern Ohio. Illustrated with black and white engravings. The title page states that this is the entirety of vol. I, from July 1848 to July 1849, but in fact, it contains only the issues through February 1849. .
