Small volume with dark blue covers with gilt lettering and simple decoration on the front cover, gilt lettering on the spine is much dulled, lightly bumped corners. Sound binding, clean pages. Inscription on front end-paper "To Agnes Rix, Sec. a birthday gift with grateful wishes from her chief, Henry van Dyke, Avalon, Nov. 10, 1924", a NJ address is pencilled below. Van Dyke was the US Minister to the Netherlands and Luxembourg between 1913 and 1916. Miss Rix seems to have been known to him during that period and afterwards. Quantity Available: 1.
