Lloyd Jones - Splinter

Hodder and Stoughton 1988 Hardback, 188pp. Splinter (1988) is that rare creation, an interesting novel about Lower Hutt, that ‘town of modest achievement’. Lloyd Jones is a writer and journalist. His writing began with two novels, Gilmore's Dairy and Splinter, which drew on the small New Zealand community in which he grew up. His short stories were collected in Swimming to Australia. He has travelled widely, through the United States and India, through Europe, and in Korea. He spent 1989 as the Katherine Mansfield Fellow at Menton in the South of France.
