Lavishly illustrated dutch language monograph recording, describing and valueing eighteenth century topographical drawings of Batavia preserved in various private and public collections. Johannes Rach, a danish national 1720-1783, travelled to 18th century dutch colonial Indonesia to Batavia and worked as a V.O.C. employee.
